KnoxBUG is pleased to welcome Warren Block who will be in town for this month's meeting. Details about his talk are below.
Documentation as a whole has several classes of ongoing problems that prevent it from being useful to the user. We look at actual examples and point out the problems and how to avoid them. This applies not just to people working on documentation, but to programmers and end users also. Real examples are shown. Questions are asked of and by the audience, blame is assigned and rejected, solutions are suggested. There will be mystery, trivia, and surprises.
About Warren Block: I've been using FreeBSD since before version 4.0 in 1998. In 2011 I became a documentation committer, and in 2014 I joined the Documentation Engineering team. At present, I am a technical writer for iXsystems.
The location will once again be at the Blount County Library. We will be in the Dorothy Herron room - Room A. There should also be a sign directing people to the room in the hallway. If you have any questions about the meeting, you can contact us by signing up for our mailing list or visiting us on irc.freenode.net #knoxbug.
